Hey Cleveland!  Party Like It's 1929

Ingenuity will be hosting the one-night only Speakeasy Under the Bridge on Friday July 23rd in the West Side subway tunnels of the Detroit Superior Bridge. This event offers guests a unique opportunity to experience music, dancing, drinks, and food in the rarely seen catacomb spaces of the bridge that open out to spectacular views of downtown.

This fundraiser begins at 6 PM with cabaret performances, classic cocktail classes, food, drinks, fun, and more.  Entertainment for the evening will be provided by the TOPS Swing Band as well as dancers from Get Hep to Swing. In addition, models from Fashionweek Cleveland will be donning costumes from the period made from non-traditional materials. Later in the evening, area DJs spin tunes from 9PM until 1AM.

Tickets for this portion of the evening will be $100 with hors d’oeuvres and drinks included. At 9 PM the doors open for a more casual Party on the Bridge with DJs, drinks and dancing. Speakeasy Under the Bridge benefits IngenuityFest, Cleveland’s cutting edge festival of arts, music, and technology. The festival will be held in 2010 from September 24th to 26th also on the lower level of the Detroit Superior Bridge, but in an expanded space that will cross the river into the East Side. Admission to the festival is free for the first time this year.

“Ingenuity has always been about creating fun and excitement in spaces within the city that are typically hidden,” said, Jamie DeRosa, co-chair of the Ingenuity fundraising committee. “This event gives people a chance to experience a hidden gem in Cleveland, enjoy some good food and music, and support an event that is a very good thing for the city.”
